About this map
Every individual building in Oslo's Fredensborg area (Grünerløkka / St. Hanshaugen, including the historic wooden-house streets Damstredet and Telthusbakken), shaded by estimated property value. Use the buttons to switch between value, floors, footprint and use, and hover any building for details. Parks and green space are shaded in green.

Method
- Buildings: ~2,050 buildings pulled from OpenStreetMap. 139 are registered as heritage-listed (purple outline), and most carry an official cadastral building number (
ref:bygningsnr). - Addresses: OSM address points are matched to the building they fall inside (point-in-polygon) — roughly 1,800 buildings received a real street address.
- Floor area (GFA estimate): footprint (m²) × number of floors. Floors come from OSM where tagged; where missing, a conservative assumption is used (4 for residential, 1 for outbuildings/garages) and flagged "(est)" in the tooltip.
- Estimated value: floor area × the official price per m² for the sub-district each building sits in (City of Oslo, 2025). Across this extent the rate ranges from ~101,000 kr/m² (Grønland) to ~127,000 kr/m² (Sentrum).
Caveat
Values are a modelled estimate based on official area prices and building size — not an appraisal, tax value or actual sale. A true per-property valuation at transaction level requires a commercial data source (e.g. Eiendomsverdi, Ambita or Virdi), which can be joined in via the cadastral building number if needed.
